Ukiyo, Coverack. House renovation
Ukiyo was a 1970’s pebble dashed building that needed complete renovation. Gekko Designs took on this exciting project as the main contractor and worked alongside designer Kathryn Tyler of Linea Studio‘s to reconfigure the exterior and interior.
The brief was for a scandi-inspired holiday retreat with highly detailed finish. The house has two spacious bedrooms, both with en-suite. Open plan living downstairs utilises space and light. Both rooms at the front of the house have floor to ceiling windows to maximise the fantastic panoramic sea views. The whole of the exterior is clad in Siberian Larch.
The project included:
- Installation of wood fibre insulation.
- The exterior is clad in Siberian Larch (manufactured by ourselves).
- Re-configuring of rooms, including supply and installation of wood and glass panelling partitions.
- Manufacture of unique full height doors.
- Plaster of walls in one off mix.
- Window seat and window surrounds made from solid Ash.
- Unique bath surround made from solid Ash.
