Hellesveor Cabin. St Ives

Gekko Designs was asked to assist in realising the clients vision of building a bespoke cabin to replace an old static caravan on their campsite at the top of St Ives.

From the initial conversation it was clear that the client wanted to use local materials and to be as eco-friendly as much as possible.

The build is timber frame with wood fibre insulation. The cabin is clad in shousugiban Douglas Fir to help preserve the wood, the interior is clad in oiled Douglas Fir.

The kitchen is made from Birchwood ply with minimal Ash face frames.

The decking which extends around the cabin we re-used the existing Douglas Fir decking.

The bespoke bunk beds and wardrobes are made from Tulip wood and Birchwood ply.
